1. Operator and contact
Honeylingo is operated by Soonho Kim, the legal seller identified for Honeylingo in the applicable app marketplace and purchase screen. For privacy or support requests, email honeylingo@outlook.com.
2. Eligibility
Honeylingo is a general-audience language-learning service for people age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 was collected, we will delete it.
3. Information we process
- Account and sign-in: an automatically created anonymous Supabase user ID; and, if you choose to register or sign in, email address, authentication records, provider type, and profile information made available by email/password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple.
- Learning: app, native and learning languages, level, lesson requests, custom place or situation text, generated lessons and word quizzes, ratings, progress, XP, creation limits and any legacy credit records.
- Speech: microphone audio is handled by the operating system or selected speech provider. Honeylingo does not upload raw microphone recordings to its own server. A recognized transcript or typed answer may be sent for a requested AI evaluation.
- Purchases: product, transaction, renewal, expiration and entitlement status, storefront, and RevenueCat App User ID. Honeylingo does not receive full payment-card details.
- Advertising: For free users, Google Mobile Ads and Google User Messaging Platform may process IP address and approximate location derived from it, ad and app interactions, diagnostics, advertising identifiers such as IDFA or Android advertising ID when permitted, App Set ID, and other device or account identifiers for ad delivery, personalization, measurement, fraud prevention and privacy choices. On iOS, activity may be linked with data from other companies for personalized advertising or advertising measurement only after App Tracking Transparency authorization. Honeylingo does not request precise device location for advertising.
- Operations: session and step events, app version, device platform, error message and stack, diagnostic metadata, and timestamps used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.
- On-device: settings, locally cached lessons, progress, reminders, nickname and a local profile-photo path. The profile photo selected in the current app is not uploaded as an account photo.
4. AI and Reading
OpenAI and Google Gemini process the text needed to generate or evaluate requested learning content. Do not enter a real name, email, phone number, precise address, health information, account credential, or other sensitive information in a custom request.
The Reading feed is created automatically by Honeylingo's AI bot and managed by Honeylingo. Users cannot publish posts or comments in the current app. AI Reading content is not attributed to a user account.
5. Providers and purposes
We use information to authenticate users, generate and restore learning material, provide speech and Reading features, maintain progress, enforce limits, verify purchases, display and measure ads, prevent fraud, diagnose failures, secure the service, respond to requests and comply with law.
- Supabase: authentication, database, storage, server functions and operational records.
- OpenAI and Google Gemini: AI lesson, quiz, evaluation and Reading generation.
- Google Mobile Ads/AdMob and Google UMP: advertising, measurement, fraud prevention and privacy choices.
- Apple App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat: billing, entitlement verification and purchase restoration.
- Apple, Google, the operating system, Expo and the selected speech provider: sign-in, app, notification, text-to-speech and speech-recognition functions.
These providers may process information in countries other than yours under their terms and applicable transfer safeguards.
6. Retention and account deletion
You may delete an anonymous or registered account in Me → Settings → Delete account, or use the account-deletion resource. Account identifiers, authentication records held by Honeylingo, profiles, assignments, generation logs, votes, usage records, credits, XP, progress, operational records, legacy user-authored Reading records and the associated RevenueCat customer record are deleted when the process completes. Sign in with Apple authorization is revoked as part of deleting an Apple-linked account.
Generated Today lesson and Words quiz JSON is reusable shared learning content. It remains after account deletion so another learner can use it. Before its account link is removed, Honeylingo removes structured account, device and advertising identifiers; recognizable email addresses, UUIDs, URLs, IP addresses, phone numbers and social handles; known account email, account ID and public display name. The source generation-log link is removed and the retained content is not presented as authored by the deleted user. Because arbitrary text cannot always be identified automatically, do not submit personal information; contact us if retained content may contain it.
AI Reading content is operator-generated and independent of learner accounts, so account deletion does not remove it. Records that Apple, Google, RevenueCat or another payment provider must retain under law or their policies are controlled by that provider.
Deleting an account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel it separately in the store where it was purchased. In-app deletion removes the deleted account's local learning data; if the device is unavailable, clear app data or uninstall the app.
7. Advertising choices and privacy rights
Honeylingo uses Google UMP to request applicable consent or privacy choices before requesting ads. On iOS, when advertising may involve tracking, Honeylingo then requests permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency system before Google Mobile Ads is initialized or an ad is requested. Personalized ads are requested only when both the applicable UMP choices and iOS tracking authorization permit them. If either permission is not granted, Honeylingo requests non-personalized or limited ads and does not use IDFA or perform tracking that requires ATT permission. Premium users are not shown ads and do not enter this advertising permission flow.
When available, you can reopen Ad privacy choices in Me → Settings. You can change iOS tracking authorization in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, or limit certain processing, and to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Email us to exercise a right or appeal a response.
8. Security and changes
We use encrypted transport and access controls, but no system is completely secure. We will change the version and request renewed acknowledgement when a material policy change requires it.
