How to delete an account
Both automatically created anonymous accounts and registered accounts can be deleted inside Honeylingo through Me → Settings → Delete account. If you cannot access the app, email honeylingo@outlook.com from the account email when possible. Never send a password, authentication code, Apple or Google token, or payment-card number.
What is deleted
- The Supabase authentication account, account email and Honeylingo account identifiers.
- Account-linked profile, assignments, generation logs, ratings, votes, limits, credits, XP, progress, usage and operational records.
- The RevenueCat customer record linked to the Honeylingo account.
- Any legacy user-authored Reading records and associated user-uploaded media that remain from older versions. Users cannot create Reading posts or comments in the current app.
- Honeylingo learning data stored in that account's local app database when deletion is completed inside the app.
For an account linked to Sign in with Apple, Honeylingo asks you to reauthenticate and revokes the Apple authorization before completing deletion. If that revocation cannot be confirmed, the deletion stops without deleting the account data so it can be retried safely.
De-identified shared content that remains
Generated Today lesson and Words quiz JSON is reusable shared learning content. It remains so another learner can use it. Before removing the originating account's generation logs, Honeylingo removes the source link and applies de-identification to the JSON and its custom place or situation keys. This removes structured account, device and advertising identifiers; recognizable email addresses, UUIDs, URLs, IP addresses, phone numbers and social handles; and known account values such as the account email, account ID and public display name. The retained content is not shown as authored by the deleted user.
Automated de-identification cannot reliably recognize every possible real-world identifier in arbitrary text. Do not enter personal or sensitive information in custom lesson requests. If you believe retained content contains personal information, email us so it can be reviewed.
Reading and subscriptions
Current Reading content is created automatically by Honeylingo's AI bot, managed by Honeylingo and independent of learner accounts, so deleting a learner account does not remove that AI Reading content.
Deleting an account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel it separately in the store where it was purchased. Apple, Google, RevenueCat or another payment provider may retain transaction records required by law or its policies.
Verification and timing
We may verify ownership before acting on an email request. In-app deletion is processed immediately when the connected services respond successfully. Email requests are handled within the period required by applicable law, and completion is confirmed when contact information remains available.
